Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager you will take responsibility for ensuring all Payables transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner for Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. With your own portfolio of creditors to manage, you will need to resolve problems and issues by working collaboratively with International stakeholders.

Day to day

You will ensure that all invoices and purchase orders are correctly matched/coded in a timely manner to ensure that suppliers are paid on time.

You will be responsible for managing groups of creditors, both externally and internally. Liaise with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

Assist with month end supplier aging reviews, ensuring any unaccounted transactions are reconciled in a timely manner.

Coaching of our offshore team (WNS) and ensuring that appropriate procedural documentation is produced to future proof the service and avoid financial risk to the business.

Assisting with discovery and analysis of AP for any potential new routes.

About you

Ideally, you'll have previous end to end knowledge of Accounts Payable cycles and will have proven experience within a high volume payables environment. Knowledge of International AP functions would be desirable. If you have an accounting qualification within this field, that's great, however previous relevant experience is just as important.

You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft, particularly Excel. Previous experience of Oracle would be an advantageous.
You will have proven capability to prioritise work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines and you will have a positive and pragmatic approach to achieving results along with great attention to detail and pursuit of accuracy.

As a key part of this role involves working with others, you will need to use your effective written and verbal communication skills to engage with people both internally and externally at any level.
