Brunel University London is a world-class university based in Uxbridge, West London. As one of the academic Colleges within the University, the College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) aims to develop excellent research and educational programmes in fields such as Sports, Health and Exercise Sciences, Biological Sciences and Occupational Therapy. The College continues to develop its portfolio of programmes, and with it, the requirement to manage and oversee accreditations, reporting requirements and contractual agreements with professional statutory bodies. We are looking for an individual with drive, professionalism and the confidence to work independently, engaging and influencing across a broad spectrum of responsibilities. Working closely with academic colleagues and your own team of administrators, your direct involvement with both these groups and ownership of key relationships will support the College’s wider aims and the learning experiences of our students.
You will be joining at an exciting time following the appointment of a new Head of Department for Clinical Sciences and a recent review of the College central office teams. You will have the ability to coordinate high level projects with staff from across the university, building and maintaining valuable, long-term external and internal networks.
You will provide daily operational oversight to a small group of practice education administrators and work in partnership with academic practice leads, ensuring that offsite student placement arrangements for Clinical Sciences’ students are delivered effectively and in accordance with agreed procedures. Experience of managing health-related placement or other commercial-related contracts would be advantageous.
You will have:
- University Undergraduate Degree or candidates without a first degree should be able to demonstrate transferable skills - such as analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving and self-management skills - at an appropriate level
- The ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and colleagues
- A strong leadership ethos with the ability to develop a small team
- A demonstrable track record of providing a high quality management support service, obtained from any industry or sector
- Excellent communication skills, alongside the ability to converse on complex subjects with a wide variety of stakeholders
- The ability to prioritise your own varied workload under minimum supervision
- Excellent IT and technical skills across a broad range of packages
